Pastor Michelle Honored

by Diverse & Resilient

Congratulations to Pastor Michelle who received the 2013 Acceptance Journeys Award from Diverse and Resilient, a Milwaukee-based organization that is dedicated to serving LGBT people and ensuring that they have a safe, supportive community.  Pastor Michelle was chosen for this award because of her commitment to LGBT rights and because she embraces LGBT people for who they are and their valuable contributions to our society.

Rev. Steve Jerbi, Pastor of All Peoples Lutheran Church, is also being honored.

The presentation Was part of a major Diverse & Reslient event:

Bayard Rustin changed the world.  As mentor and adviser to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the chief orgnaizer of the historic 1963 March on Washington, Rustin was a leader in the Civil Rights Movement.

Reviving the Dream honors the memory of Bayard Rustin and celebrates lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender leaders working to make Wisconsin – and the world – a better place.
The 2014 Leadership Awards were presented, including the Bayard Rustin Leadership Award presented to Everett L. Marshburn. We will also hear remarks from Walter Naegle, longtime partner of Bayard Rustin.
