Madeleine Crop

Madeleine Turner

Madeleine comes to us with a wide range of skills, including education in nursing and communication from UWM and Organizational Leadership through Professional Studies at Marquette University.  Her work history includes over 30 years of diversity and anti-racism commitment, and strong skills in Human Resources coordination and management in both nonprofit organizations and for-profit companies.  In addition, Madeleine
first became familiar with Cross through her membership and leadership in the Lutheran Human Relations Association.

A woman of faith for her entire life, this is Madeleine's second position as Administrative Assistant within a church. She has also volunteered her services helping in the office at her own church home, All Saints Cathedral on East Juneau, where she serves as Verger during services -- which includes leading the processions on Sundays, Feast Days, and other celebrations, and recruiting potential vergers.

In addition to being the Wednesday-Thursday administrative assistant, he also sings with and directs CLC’s Praise Choir, for which he composed the song, “God Is My Safety Net.” Having been at Cross for over twenty years, Chuck has worn many other hats, as well. He has been a Sunday school teacher and member of the Youth Education Committee; from 2001-2003, Chuck was a tutor and the coordinator of Cross’ tutoring program, as well as the teacher of a Spanish course at the church. Together with his longtime partner, Brian, he served as co-editor of the CLC newsletter and was a member of the church’s board of elders. He has been a trustee at Cross and has served as co-chair of the LGBT Ministry Committee. In addition, he has been a member of the Stewardship Committee and is CLC’s current financial secretary. During worship services, Chuck has been a scripture reader, has helped lead worship for Vacation Bible School, and has regularly presented children’s sermons.

Chuck holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Inter-Arts with major emphases in Music and Theatre from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Cross is one of three Lutheran churches in Milwaukee for which he has been an administrative assistant; he is also a longtime member of the Greater Milwaukee Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America’s Reconciling in Christ Ministry Team.
