Scholarships

Each year, students at Cross and in the community have the opportunity to apply for several scholarships to continue their education beyond High School.  Brief descriptions and requirements are listed here; download the provided documents for complete information.

The Joe & Joyce Ellwanger Scholarship

Awarded each year to one student who:

  • Is enrolling in a 2- or 4-year college program or seminary,
  • Demonstrates financial need,
  • Can demonstrate that he or she has already provided leadership in the community, and
  • Can demonstrate through grades or other criteria that he/she has the academic potential to succeed in collage.

The student MUST submit a transcript of high school or college work. This scholarship is not renewable. However, it is open to anyone, whether a member of Cross or not. For complete information, download the information and forms below.

Funding: The scholarship is funded from bequests left to Cross by former members of Cross. The earnings from this investment can only fund a yearly scholarship of about $350 without depleting the principal. Additional donations, including legacy gifts, are gratefully accepted.

These scholarships and their endowments are overseen by the Endowment Board. >>

And, from the Community:

Martin Luther King Scholarships

The Martin Luther King Scholarships are awarded separately.  Applicants must participate in the MKL All-A-Thon to qualify.

Funding: These are funded through pledges by those participating in the annual MKL All-A-Thon each spring. Many members of Cross are avid supporters of the event, and will gratefully accept your financial support.
